Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of repair and diagnostic services by iPhone Repair Honpo ("we", "us", "our") to customers ("you", "your"). By leaving a device with us for repair or diagnostic assessment, you agree to these terms.
1. About Our Services
iPhone Repair Honpo provides mobile device repair, diagnostic, and assessment services from our workshop at 20 Cochrane St, Glasgow G1 1HL. Our services include screen replacement, battery replacement, charging port repair, camera repair, and device diagnostics, as described on our website and in communications with customers.
We provide repair services on third-party devices that we do not manufacture or sell. We are an independent repair business and are not affiliated with Apple Inc. or any device manufacturer. Our services do not affect your statutory rights against the device manufacturer for any pre-existing manufacturing defects.
2. Repair Estimates and Authorisation
Where the nature and cost of a repair can be confirmed without opening the device, we will provide an estimate before commencing work. Where the specific fault requires internal inspection before an accurate estimate is possible, we will advise you of this and seek your authorisation before proceeding with the inspection.
We will not carry out work beyond the agreed scope without contacting you for authorisation. If during a repair we discover an additional issue that is relevant to the repair being carried out or to the device's safe operation, we will inform you and await your instructions before proceeding.
Estimates are indicative. Final costs are confirmed upon diagnosis. We will not charge more than the agreed estimate without your explicit consent.
3. Device Condition and Pre-Repair Assessment
Before accepting a device for repair, we record its visible condition. This includes the state of the housing, screen, ports, and buttons. This record is for the protection of both parties.
We ask customers to inform us of any previous repairs, modifications, or known liquid exposure, as these may affect the repair process. Undisclosed prior repairs or modifications may affect our ability to complete the repair and may affect the warranty on our work.
It is your responsibility to back up all data on the device before bringing it in. Whilst repairs do not typically result in data loss, we accept no liability for data loss arising from any repair or diagnostic process. We strongly recommend maintaining a backup as general good practice regardless of any planned repairs.
4. Repair Timelines
Timelines given for repairs are estimates. Standard repairs (screen replacement, battery replacement, charging port) are typically completed within the same day or within the session agreed at intake, subject to parts availability.
Some repairs — particularly board-level diagnostics, liquid damage assessment, or repairs requiring specialist parts — may take longer. We will communicate an expected timeline in these cases and keep you updated if circumstances change.
We will not be liable for delays caused by factors outside our control, including parts supply issues, manufacturer delays, or events beyond our reasonable control.
5. Warranty on Repairs
We provide a warranty on parts and labour for repairs carried out by us. The standard warranty period is 90 days from the date of repair handover, unless otherwise stated in writing at the time of the repair.
The warranty covers defects in the replacement parts or workmanship for the specific repair carried out. It does not cover:
- Damage caused by a subsequent drop, impact, or liquid exposure after the repair
- Faults unrelated to the repair carried out
- Damage arising from use of the device in a manner not intended by the manufacturer
- Normal wear and tear of consumable components
- Damage caused by third-party modification or repair following our repair
To make a warranty claim, contact us within the warranty period with a description of the issue and proof of the original repair. We will assess the device and, where the issue falls within warranty coverage, repair or replace the affected component without additional charge.
6. Liability
Our liability to you in respect of any repair service is limited to the cost of that repair service. We do not accept liability for indirect or consequential losses.
We do not accept liability for any pre-existing faults or conditions in the device that are unrelated to the repair carried out and that were not caused or worsened by our work.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable UK law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or for fraudulent misrepresentation.
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other applicable legislation are not affected by these terms.
7. Uncollected Devices
Once a repair is complete, we will notify you that the device is ready for collection. If a device is not collected within 30 days of notification, we reserve the right to charge a reasonable storage fee. If a device remains uncollected for 90 days following notification despite our reasonable attempts to contact you, we reserve the right to treat the device as abandoned, in which case we may dispose of it in accordance with applicable law after written notice to your last known contact details.
8. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland, United Kingdom. Any disputes arising from these terms or from the provision of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts, unless you are a consumer in which case you may also have rights to bring proceedings in the jurisdiction of your place of residence.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated date on this page. Continued use of our services following a material change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
